Yolo County, California Bridges: Winters Road Bridge across Putah Creek (2)

July 2013 (38.52000, -121.96778) Winters Road Bridge
Another look at the Putah Creek Bridge. I discovered a photo that captured the whole bridge, albeit from an oblique angle. It's a pretty bridge with architectural ornamentation on the piers and the barriers, and with long, graceful arches. At the far end of the bridge we can see the town of Winters.

Winters got a post office in 1875 and became a city in 1898, although I doubt if the population ever exceeded 10,000. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and it had the ambience of a tourist town with lots of bicyclists, shoppers, and people driving SUVs.
Shown above is a photo of the deck and barrier of the Putah Creek Bridge. You can see the roadway is very narrow. I guess they painted the inside of the barrier white so drivers would stop smacking into it.
