Yolo County, California Bridge; County Road 89 Bridge across Buckeye Creek

July 2013 (38.90300 Degrees, 121.97080 Degrees) Buckeye Creek Bridge
We  are ending our tour of Yolo County Bridges with a few bridges near the northeast corner of Yolo County. Today's bridge is a pretty, three span closed spandrel arch carrying County Road 89 over dry Buckeye Creek.  The bridge sits on tall pier walls with a slightly higher center span  and it appears the spandrel walls or at least the barrier rails are masonry.
Because of scour degradation the bridge was supposed to be replaced in June, although I didn't see any sign of work being done when I visited in July. I've never seen piers foundations so eccentrically loaded, but there was no weight restrictions on the bridge and we drove across it without any problems.
The Buckeye Creek Bridge (220135) was built in 1925 and its 75 ft long with three 22 ft long arch spans. It's only 21 ft wide like many older bridges in Yolo County. It wouldn't be hard to build larger footings to support the piers but the county wants to replace this 88 year old substandard bridge.
