Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan's Bridges: Ishibashi Park and Museum

September 2013 (31.6055 Degrees, 130.5696 Degrees) Ishibashi Museum
Before leaving Ishibashi Park I wanted to briefly describe the park's museum. The museum has clearstory walls for viewing and discussing the restored bridges, and there are also wonderfully constructed dioramas, models, and holographic movies to enhance our understanding of the region's history and the importance of its 19th century bridges.
Realistic models demonstrate how the stones were cut into the proper shape and how the stones were assembled to build a bridge.
Movies are projected onto the models to demonstrate the importance of these bridges to the history of the region.
