Japan's Bridges: Route 398 Bridge across the Onagawa in Miyagi Prefecture

June 2012 (38.457 Degrees, 141.291 Degrees) Route 398 Bridge
At the north end of Ishinomaki, just south of the Tenno Arch Bridges, is this tall steel girder bridge across the Onagawa River. We are on Route 45 looking to the south at the bridge carrying Route 398 over the river. Route 398 climbs onto an embankment, across the bridge, and then into a tunnel on the other side of the river (next to Ishinomaki Senshu University). We are pretty far from the coast, but there is a pile of cars that were damaged during the tsunami.
