Japan's Bridges: Oteai Bridge in Miyagi Prefecture

June 2011 (38.5562 Degrees, 141.4169 Degrees) Oteai Bridge
One kilometer northwest of the Kitakami Bridge (and a little west of the utility bridge) is a three span concrete girder bridge on pier walls and seat-type abutments.

I'm standing on a bike path that had some tsunami damage including to the fence along the channel. Perhaps this was as far as the tsunami wave traveled upstream.

On the right bank is a blue floodgate for a small creek flowing into the channel. Behind the bridge are soldier piles for a caisson being built in the channel.
