Placer County, California Bridges: Eleven Pines Road Bridge across the Rubicon River

December 2012 (38.9573 Degrees, -120.4861 Degrees) Eleven Pines Road Bridge
Continuing southeast from the 'North Fork' Bridge we eventually make it to the Eleven Pines Road Bridge over the Middle Fork of the American Rubicon River (thanks Juan) at the southern border with El Dorado County. I looked for some information on this bridge, but even the Bridgehunter couldn't help me. 1967 was stamped into the curb so that must be when it was built.

It's a three span steel girder bridge on tall reinforced concrete piers. The piers have an interesting flare that ends in a concrete key to attach to the steel end diaphragms. This bridge is in the middle of nowhere and so they must have built a concrete plant nearby.

The photo below shows what the river looks like under this bridge (in December).

  1. The reason you can't find information on this bridge is that you have the wrong river. This bridge is over the Rubicon.
