Placer County, California Bridges: Iowa Hill Bridges across the North Fork of the American River (4)

August 2012 (39.0999 Degrees, -120.9247 Degrees) Iowa Hill Bridges
Another view of the two Iowa Hill Bridges. It's odd that these two bridges were built 60 years apart in the middle of nowhere. I can understand that the newer bridge may have been built to provide access to Mineral Springs Park, but why was the older bridge built?
On the map above, we can see that the new bridge provides the most direct vehicle access from Colfax across the North Fork of the American River. We'll take a look at Yankee Jim's Bridge across the North Fork in a couple of days.
