According to the Bridgehunter, the Iowa Hill Bridge is a wire suspension bridge over the North Fork of the American River. It was built in 1928 and is now only open to foot traffic. As can be seen in the photo above, the bridge has a wooden deck and steel latticed towers.
In the Google Earth aerial photo above, we can see how much bigger the box girder bridge is, how the roadway wraps around the river, and how the river sits at the bottom of a deep canyon.
