Napa County, California Bridges: Trancas Street Bridge across Milliken Creek

November 2013 (38.32563 Degrees, -122.27467 Degrees) Trancas Street Bridge
Continuing north of the City of Napa we arrived at the Trancas Street Bridge across Milliken Creek. This five span arch was built 1908 and placed in the Nation Register of Historic Places in 2004. The stone came from the Wing Quarry and it was built by H.W. Wing and O.H. Buckman. It's 169 ft long but only 20 ft wide. Despite its narrow width, it was carrying a surprising amount of traffic when we visited.

    Hello Mark,
    I came across your blog in looking for pictures of Napa stone bridges. There has been an accident that damaged the Milliken Creek bridge. I don't think you did a blog post on that particular bridge. Here is a link to one of the articles in the Napa Register about it - I thought you might be interested.
