November 2013 (36.08395 Degrees, 140.09241 Degrees) Kenkyugakuen River Bridge |
Looking under the bridge, the superstructure appears to be a cast-in-place T beam superstructure (although the girders closely resemble precast girders supporting a cast-in-place deck). However, these girders don't have a bottom flange. The Hasunuma River looks more like a channel, but it may get broader as it continues to travel south, away from Mt Tsukuba, which can be seen in the distance.
Just south of the bridge is a utility line that seem to require it's own truss-like bridge. We can see the Japan Rail Viaduct that we recently studied in the background. Also, a transmission line follows along the side of the river.
