A last few photos of the Highway 8 Bridge over the U River. The only damage to this bridge from the 2007 Kashiwazaki earthquake was a little bit of settlement at the approaches. The embankments are the most vulnerable parts of a bridge as a result of ground shaking, especially for river crossings.
