El Dorado County, California Bridges: Mt Aukum Bridge across the Middle Fork of the Cosumnes River (2)

January 2013 (38.6254 Degrees, -120.7015 Degrees) Mount Aukum Road Bridge

Today's photo of the Mount Aukum Bridge looks less streamlined then in yesterday's photo. The columns look like they are made of Corten steel and the column on the left looks like it was seriously damaged during construction.  Also, the columns on the other side of the river are much shorter and battered transversely. I would have filled the columns with concrete but maybe there wasn't a concrete mixing plant within a reasonable distance from this bridge.
