Michigan's Bridges: 17 1/2 Mile Road Overcrossing in Calhoun County

August 2011 (42.288 Degrees, -84.955 Degrees) 17 1/2 Mile Road Overcrossing
We've left India for Michigan. Driving east on I-94 through Calhoun County I passed half a dozen four span haunched T-girder overcrossings that were built in the 1960s. Unfortunately, the state had replaced the handsome open bannister rails with more effective but less attractive solid concrete barriers. Still, the superstructure makes a dramatic statement between green fields and blue sky.
