Calaveras County, California Bridges: State Route 12 Bridge across Haupt Creek

April 2013 (38.21167 Degrees, -120.76361 Degrees) SR 12 Bridge
Just south of yesterday's Haupt Creek Bridge is something a little different, a single span prestressed concrete box girder bridge built in 1993. The State Route 12 Bridge across Haupt Creek (30 0006) is 107 ft long, 55.4 ft wide, and on a 13 degree skew.
Unlike wet Youngs Creek, Haupt Creek apparently is dry for much of the year. The bridge has sloping exterior girders, end-diaphragm abutments, and a solid New Jersey type barrier. The bridge carries 5800 vehicles a day and has a sufficiency rating of 99.5.
