Santa Cruz County, California Bridges: Glenwood Drive Bridge across Bean Creek

March 2014 (37.09734, -121.99634 Degrees) Glenwood Drive Bridge
We return to northwest Santa Cruz County to look at bridges that were overlooked in our study of San Lorenzo River and railroad bridges. As can be seen in the photo above, this area is covered in thick green mosses due to the heavy fogs that sit along the coast.
Today's bridge carries Glenwood Drive over Bean Creek. Its a reinforced concrete closed spandrel arch bridge that was built in 1915 and eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The Glenwood Drive Bridge (36C0048) is 44 ft long with a 20 ft arch span and 12 ft long approaches.
