Sacramento County, California Bridges: Hazel Avenue Bridge across the American River

Continuing west on the Jebediah Smith Bike Trail I stopped to photograph the Hazel Avenue Bridge. This bridge was previously in an October 2009 blog, which showed the widening being constructed and also a photo of hundreds of people fishing below a weir on the east side of this bridge. The original bridge is cast-in-place box girders but they widened the west side with what looks like precast I girders.

I'm afraid after Bill S's comment the other day about steel bridge railing, I'm going to be painfully aware of it on every bridge I see. At least in this case they tried to make it look slightly more attractive with a metal ribbon meant to represent mountains or rivers.
